Welcome to The American Compendium
The American Compendium is an online reference that makes U.S. government data easier to access, compare, and apply. By standardizing datasets from multiple federal agencies into a unified format, it removes the barriers of inconsistent structures and file types, giving researchers, businesses, developers, and reporters a single reliable interface for analysis. With normalized fields like dates, locations, and ZIP codes, the Compendium helps users link related records with confidence, spend less time cleaning data, and focus more on generating meaningful insights.
The American Compendium is currently in beta, and new datasets and features are being added regularly. We’ll be continuously refining our models, expanding coverage, and improving usability based on feedback. Our first dataset in this beta release focuses on FDA food enforcement reports, providing standardized access to recalls, alerts, and enforcement actions as a starting point for broader coverage.
