Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about data coverage, update cadence, access methods, citations, and accuracy for The American Compendium.
Which datasets are currently cataloged?
The site is in beta. During this period, two FDA datasets are available: Food Enforcements and Food Events (CAERS). Additional datasets will be cataloged over time.
How frequently is data updated?
Update frequency depends on the source and dataset type. We refresh data on a regular cadence and display a “last updated” timestamp on dataset and record pages where applicable.
Can I download or integrate the data?
Bulk download and programmatic access options are being added during beta. If you have a specific use case, please reach out via the contact form and we’ll try to help.
How should I cite The American Compendium?
Citation is not required, but appreciated. Please include a link such as: “Source: www.americancompendium.com.”
Do you guarantee accuracy?
We apply best efforts to ensure accuracy, but we do not provide guarantees. The official source of record remains the originating government agency.
