Privacy Policy
Last updated September 22, 2025
Your privacy is our priority. The American Compendium, (“Website Owner”, “we”, or “us”) understands that information protection is important to you, especially in today’s online environment. With this Privacy Policy, we emphasize our commitment to privacy and let you know:
- what personal information we collect about you through your use of this site (and/or any other site that we link to this Privacy Policy) and what information we collect while providing e-commerce services and/or managing projects for our utility customers, such as administering web portals for utilities’ end users and collecting applications to determine utilities’ end users’ program eligibility (collectively, the “Services”);
- how we use and to whom we disclose your personal information; and
- that we use any personal information provided to us responsibly to provide you with the services you request.
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we obtain from individuals interacting with the “Site”. By using this Site, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Personal information, or personal data, means any information that identifies or can reasonably be used to identify a particular individual, such as name, email address, telephone number, address, date of birth, your company’s name and its type of business, and your title. Personal information or personal data does not include data that does not reasonably relate to a specific individual.
We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices and Services. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We recommend that you check our Site from time to time for any changes in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collected through our Use of Cookies and Other Technologies
We also automatically collect information when you use our Sites, such as through our use of cookies. Website Owner uses “cookies” to remember user preferences and to maximize the performance of our Site and Services. This information may include your IP address, your browser type and language, access times, the content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from Website Owner, and the referring website address. We may assign your computer one or more cookies to facilitate access to the Site and to personalize your online experience. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to refuse cookies or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, some parts of the Sites may become inaccessible or not function properly.
We may use standard Internet technology, such as web beacons and other similar technologies, to track your use of our Site. We also may include web beacons in advertisements or promotional or other email messages, or to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize our online offerings to deliver targeted advertisements and to measure the overall effectiveness of our online advertising, content, programming, or other activities.
The Website may use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, in order to better understand your use of our Websites and how we can improve them. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit a website, what pages you visit when you do so, and what other websites you used prior to coming to such website. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit a website, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with your Personal Information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit a website, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the Websites is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. Google utilizes the data collected to track and examine the use of the Websites, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. To more fully understand how Google may use the data it collects on the Websites, please review “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.”
Some areas of the Websites may contain electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes known as clear gifs) that allow us and our third-party providers to count users who have visited certain portions of the Websites.
Use and Sharing of Information
To the extent required by applicable law, we rely on the following legal bases of processing:
- Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you;
- Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests; or
- Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.
You may receive marketing communications from us if you have requested information from us, or purchased products or services from us, and you have not opted out of receiving that marketing. In general, you can visit the Sites without telling us who you are or providing any personal information about yourself, except that we may automatically collect personal information as described in the “cookies” section above. In a few areas on the Site, we ask you to provide information to enable us to contact and communicate with you, and tailor the content we provide to you. It is completely optional for you to participate.
Additionally, we may retain and use personal information to respond to your questions or requests for information about or from us. We may also use personal information as necessary to ensure compliance with any of our policies and any applicable legal requirements. We may aggregate your information, without identifying you personally, to obtain statistical and demographic background on users of the Sites and our Services.
Opt-out & Unsubscribe
You can ask us to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by following the unsubscribe link contained in our marketing messages sent to you or other instructions in our marketing materials, or by contacting us in accordance with the “How to Contact Website Owner” section below.
Third-Party Sites

We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. These third-party websites may independently solicit and collect personal and non-identifying information from you and, in some instances, provide us with information about your activities on those sites. When you leave our Site, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
Protect Your Information
Website Owner is committed to securely using and storing the personal information that we collect and will take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction.
